Down with Flash

If you pay attention to the widgets in the right column of this blog, and if you’ve visited this site in the past few days, you might have noticed I’ve replaced a cute, star-spangled “countdown” widget with one that is less glitzy, but more accurate. Another positive aspect of the new “iPad Delivery Countdown” timer is that it does not rely on Flash. Since the iPad itself will not display Flash content, I really wanted to find a non-Flash timer. Hooray for Andrew Ferguson’s Countdown Timer and JavaScript!
Maybe when I’m feeling more creative I’ll tweak the CSS settings for this timer, too.
