Popup Puzzlement

I just opened this site for the first time in a week or two, and was very surprised that Firefox 3 asked permission to allow popups on this page. I certainly never installed any, so I don’t know where they’re coming from. When I told it “yes” I still didn’t see any, and when I opened the page a second time and looked at the preferences, then removed this site from the allowed sites, I didn’t see any difference in the page’s contents. So I don’t know what’s going on.
If you have the same experience, I suggest not allowing popups here, since none are intended.
